GV, OT,

When my mom sold her house held JTROS after my dad died, she only was able to "step up" the basis for 1/2 the house (to the market value on the date of his death). "Her" half did not get the step up.

Or maybe she was misled - after all, the Droids are constantly trying to mislead most on this thread, right?
