Paul, Re: Anand P4X266 Review
Who would have thought? Intel had it right all along when they went with RDRAM, it's just that political issues destroyed any hope of Rambus being mainstream in the industry. But at least people have a choice, now, and whether they want to go with high performance, high cost RDRAM, value performance, low cost SDRAM, or mainstream performance, low cost DDR, the Pentium 4 will have that available. Just one more reason why Intel is ahead in this business.

P.S. SDRAM performance really isn't as bad as some people let on. If you don't care about games, then Office and Content Creation apps, and even rendering, are all within about 10% of the RDRAM solution. |
