I didn't try to claim that I am an expert on Arabs, I merely said that Egypt was freer then Iraq or Syria but was not a "beacon of democracy and human rights". Which part of that statement do you disagree with? If I had visited Egypt on a brief vacation I doubt it would increase my knowledge more then my relatively limited studying of the country has. If I had lived there for an extended time I'm sure I would understand it more, but I don't see why spending a week in some country is such an important concern in this context. Tim
