CIENA Corp (CIEN) 29.40 -1.59: Sources at First Union telling us firm made positive comments on Ciena; believes that AT&T (T) contract for Core Director could total $400-500 mln; firm had previously been modelling $300 mln in Core Director sales for 2002.

Does this mean that Ciena could make '02 Core Director sale forecast (per First Union's model) on sales to AT&T alone? Thursday morning should be very interesting for both longs and shorts.
