Hi CB, I started with the assumption/observation that Canada is not really an independent economic entity, but an appendage to the US; my apologies to the Canucks on the thread and no denigration meant, only math, as it just is :0)

I have been away and busy in the past few days. I cannot say the stock market was riveting and exciting over this period. Up and down in the single digits and low double digits is hardly worthwhile to even take an occasional peak at CNBC. So, this is apparently one way how the equity market can die, by shear disinterest and slow draining of energy. Dramatic cataclysm is perhaps a better and preferred way to most folks.

Hong Kong continues to deflate, and I believe only ahead of the US. I have converted still more cash to Euro (I liked my experience so far with Swiss Francs) and I have got a bid for Global Crossing security of slightly more exotic flavor than common shares, as well as a bid for some NTL (Britain based cable) security with a relatively high yield. I am simply walking through the bloodied and whimpering arena, kicking at all the bodies to see which ones might escape from the trip to money heaven and eventually head for a journey to wealth paradise.
