Are you surprised a little about the after hour action in AMAT? It went up nicely.

Booking dropped about 10%, they had predicted flat booking compared to revenue or slightly above. Also near historic low in fab utilization pretty much means that there will be no real capacity spending in 12 [edit: 8 inch] inch 0.18 and 0.25 any more.

Earnings guidance will have to go lower again for next quarter. Also I agree that Intel had a lot to do with less than miserable numbers. But since Intel's spending will most likely go down next year, 2002 is looking difficult also. No Internet and telecom bubble for a V sharp recovery like semi guys had in 98.
