Exactly, Tigerpaw. And why are clear-cut forests still sitting barren like wastelands even 100 years later? A real tragedy and Bush-Cheney aim to deregulate timber cutting so that there will definitely be much-much more of this tragic loss. You can't see it from the road but you can from the air. Miles upon miles of clear-cut former wilderness sitting there for our lifetimes and our childrens lifetimes. Maybe longer. And the eco-haters have the nerve to attack the spotted owl and such, when that is the only legal way to stop clear cutting. Some of these guys think they're macho cutting down forests. I think they're greedy selfish wimps for having no moral backbone. On the other hand some timberman do care. They're just not the ones controlling things.

Bush-Cheney mean to do away with the Species Extinction protections. To them it's an enemy of corporate profit, and those corporations are the ones giving them lots and lots of soft money.
