HK PCCW Splits Telecom Svc Unit Into Comml, Consumer Ops

HONG KONG -- Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (PCW) said Tuesday its telecom services sector will be split into a commercial group and a consumer group.

In a press release, the company said that the commercial business group will be headed up by Aloysius Lee, who is currently president of group sales. Lee will be managing director of the commercial group.

Rita Hsu, who recently joined PCCW from Chase Manhattan Card Co., will become managing director of consumer group.

Both Lee and Hsu will report to William Cheung, PCCW's group chief operating officer. Cheung has also assumed the role of managing director of the company's telephone unit PCCW-HKT Telephone Ltd.

Roy Wilson, currently managing director of Telecom Services Sector, will become non-executive chairman of Corporate Access (HK) Ltd. and Beyond the Network Ltd., both units of Pacific Century CyberWorks.
