I defined it for Steve as deviating from community norms, with a perjorative sense attached to it, also supplied by the coummunity norms. That means it differs depending on the culture. In New York city, for example, insisting on driving around in a pickup truck with three rifles hung on a rack in the cab would be a deviant (also illegal) lifestyle while in Montana it's just life as usual. In Sun City, Arizona, males kissing males in public would probably be considered deviant, while in San Francisco it's normal. I think most people also have their own view of what is a deviant lifestyle, though for different people it's different things. Some people might have viewed Malcom Forbes riding around in leathers on a Harley at the age of 60 deviant. Some would consider sex by a 50 year old man with a 14 year old woman deviant; others would probably consider it good fortune. In some parts of the world, it would be considered good fortune for the man; in other parts, good fortune for the woman. I don't think there is any single lifestyle you can say is deviant in all places and at all time. So I can't do better than that as a definition.
