My opinion definately differs. You keep bringing up environmentalism, and I am a big fan of the environment and the outdoors, but the green movement has gotten WAY out of control in my opinion. The situation in the Klammath valley is a perfect example. These Americans were GAURENTEED to have water by the US Government. Now their lives are being wiped out by the US Gov't backing of these crazies. The government is supposed to help people, not go to war with them and take what is rightfully theirs. Another much smaller example hits home with me. It is not nearly as big of an issue, but I recently brought some property that is accessed by a dirt road that goes through about 700 feet of Forest Service land before it gets to my land. I put in an application to change the name on the permit to my name (from the original permit owner) in June of this year. After calling to check to see if all the paperwork was in order a couple weeks ago (I got through after my 1sy 2 calls were not returned) I was told that this request would not even be put in line until at least October, and the gov't worker would give me no time frame after that as to when I may actually get the permit. She told me that 3 different agencies would have to inspect the road to complete this process (an archeoligist, an environmental agency and some other agency I can't remember) just to change the name on the permit! I am a US citizen that pays a bunch of money to live in the US (Fed Taxes) and I can not even get the government to officially allow access to my land on the only road in. They say I am allowed to go on the road (gee thanks), but can do no repair work or anything else to it until they decide to look at the request and decide if they even will put my name on the permit. This road was built in the '50's solely to access my property by the original owner.

To make a long story short, the enviro WHACKOS have created a legal quagmire to stop anyone from even using their own land. It is absolutley ridiculous and completely UN-AMERICAN. But you want me to pay more taxes so others can benefit more FROM MY WORK. I chip in plenty to live in this country and the only service I am asking is to change a name on a road use permit for 700' of insignificant dirt road that leads to MY PROPERTY. And the government will not help me out. Very disturbing.
