Albert,

<if you think about then you will realize that that news is just as bad for Intel as for AMD if not worse. >

If SSB report is true, AMD lost about 340ku worth of business to Intel in Q3 (assuming Gateway units are flat year to year). May be you can explain why this news is worse for Intel than AMD.

<What ssb saids is that amd may loose most of the tier 1 but they did not have much to begin with so that would offset by athlon 4. >

AMD "did not have much to begin with" and losing some of it!

<The overall picture is of poor demand especially for oems and that combined with lower asps should hurt intel hard.>

Yes, Intel will be hurt and Intel could conceivably lose a couple of points worth of GM and post a loss in Q3. AMD, on the otherhand could lose another 5 to 10 points on the GM.

<AMD exposure is to retail small players which put it also at high risk but it put intel at higher since the main consideration at slowdown is price.>

Majority of Intel's business is in corporate and P3 prices have been relatively stable.

AMD is getting a flesh wound and Intel is getting bruised and you say Intel is worse off. I fail to see what you are saying.
