Tell that to people with unusual beliefs. Cults that practice polygamy or racial separatism are open game. Some of these people are reprehensible, so the public usually sides with the government. First they came for the whackos and I did nothing....

btw, Gore Vidal's piece in the current Vanity Fair is excellent. He lays out step by step the false pretexts the feds used in the assault on the Branch Davidians, including violating the Posse Comitatus Act.
