Fry's buys Egghead
TECHNOLOGY ALERT

Aug. 15, 2001

Egghead.com announced that it agreed to sell its assets to closely held
electronics chain Fry's Electronics under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy
proceeding. The online retail pioneer said it fired about 200 of its
remaining employees.
