LUKoil posts profit of $3.312Bn in 2000

MOSCOW - In accordance with US GAAP accounting standards,
LUKoil's net profit reached $3.312bn in 2000, which is 3.1 times more than
in the previous year. According to the LUKoil press service, the profit per
share was $4.8, and the rate of profitability of the principal activity was 31
per cent last year.

The net receipts amounted to $13.24bn in 2000 against $7.376bn in 1999.
The stock capital grew by 49 per cent to $10.519bn. The structure and
quality of LUKoil's balance continued improving last year. LUKoil's liquidity
indicator increased from 0.88 in 1999 to 1.46 in 2000.

The ratio of long-term liabilities to the stock capital dropped to 14 per cent.
Taxes on production and revenues more than doubled to $1.619m. The
company paid $118m in dividends to its stockholders in
