different than mine which may be as different as yours....

This Afternoon ....

It is this rainy afternoon that reaches me
or it can be my soul alongside hers
or my hands that finally sing again
or the night already falling
the day left starless with me here and with you
with its color of earth getting wet
with its green that buzzes only once leaps
over all the grass
all shade
like a flame always

when I am sad
when I feel how I don't like to
and hurt as many things do
your force of a woman who loves is enough
enough is an afternoon like this one
enough are all the nights and days
when among so much heart with which I dwell
you look at my lips

Love never starts out in the morning
nor presses through the hours of afternoon
nor goes to sleep at night
leaves for work
nor is a slave of anything it knows

the rain goes on like rain
the afternoon is many afternoons and lovely
between us there has always been alive
a baby coming closer taking shape
who will come I don't know when to sing as if
from the two of us
from you
from many things
