Yep. The brown recluse, which is found, though not frequently, out here is considerably more dangerous than the black widow, which was found where I grew up.

Fortunately, neither is naturally very aggressive, neither will for example seek out sleeping people to bite them. Both use their poison for defense, not offense, against people.
