thecow, re 'orphan dll files'
Norton Cleansweep identified 347 orphaned dll files, albeit it warned they should be backed up before deleting them. I did so and my e-mail program would not run because of a missing dll file. I'm not blaming Norton. It restored all 347 files at my command. The e-mail program works again. I'll never again delete dll files. The savings in disk space are too small to matter.
