As a service to some of the newer readers of this thread, don't you think it might be helpful if you reviewed the last major "call" you made, and the history of the associated trade? As I recall, you expressed approximately equal confidence at the time, and refused to consider any possibility that you (and other members of your "select" circle) might be mistaken, and that aspects of your approach might be considered unnecessarily risky, if not foolhardy.
I think, Mr. Gates, that you often show some virtual congeniality, and that your openness in previously reporting the results of the above-mentioned trade was creditable. I do think, however, that predicting a series of unlucky "5"'s for the major indices at some unstated point in the future, and on the basis of mere assertions of special insight and knowledge, is rather a worthless exercise. You do nothing for your credibility by implying that all those who disagree with those assertions possess "weak minds" and are subject to "manipulation."
To re-state and expand upon an earlier prediction of my own: Believe me, all three of those indices will someday be at the equivalent of zero - out of business! So what? |
