>> Fool's Gold?
Even longtime supporters are skeptical about the gains in mining shares

since you're so fond of comparisons to 1982, tell me what the sentiment was toward owning stocks back then? similar to the quote above? what were people still obsessed with back in 1982 as prices were collapsing from a bubble?

wake up from your delusional haze and use some common sense, bill. people loathed stocks in 1982, right before a large secular bull market started. valuations were cheap. people still clung to notions of gold at $2000/oz and oil at $100/bbl, right when prices were too high. now the tables have turned and you are the one who clings to notions of nasdaq 10,000 and dow 36,000. of course everyone loathes gold after it has done nothing for two decades just as people loathed stocks after a decade and a half of losses ending in 1982.

anyone who tries to make the case that sentiment toward stocks is negative the way it was in 1982 needs their head examined. the proper analogy is that the sentiment towards gold is about the same as it was toward stocks in 1982. the sentiment towards stocks is closer to the same as it was toward gold in 1982 while it was in the midst of an unwinding bubble.
