The athlon performs better than Intel in this application. I'd like the performance, but have always been worried about reliability. At this kind of price, might be worth it. Most people today don't need this kind of CPU performance. Digital audio does require it, and the word from various users is the athlon will perform better than the P4 in this application. Hence, the dilemna, particularly with falling prices. Good for the consumer, not so good for AMD.
