That doesn't seem to have changed the fact that Ciena was an over-stuffed pig of a stock that has been hyped up to a valuation beyond all sense of proportion to reality. This morning a dose of reality hit investors in the face: Ciena and other optical firms do no walk on water and regardless of how miraculous their products may be the huge debt overhang in the telecommunications industry does not leave much meat on the table for them to grow fat(ter) on.
