Or was that an implication that X had inflicted personal injury on CH, for example? I may have misunderstood.
I don't know whether that was his implication. But it's a matter of record that X has tried to get me banned from at least one thread on SI, not for anything I posted on the thread (I had only posted one or two messages there, totally innocuous) but because of our disagreements on other threads far in the then past. I don't know whether you consider that personal injury, but it was certainly hostile and vindictive and came totally out of left field.
Also for the record, I have never sought to get X banned from anything at any time, in case you were thinking maybe she was responding in kind to something I had done. The only remotely similar thing I did was back on Feelies when she objected to the way I was posting to other people, not to her. She objected to the, well, sexually suggestive nature of the posts, which offended her. I declined to change my posts and suggested that if she didn't like them she was free to use the Next button. Apparently I have more actual belief in tolerance than she does, though the record is also clear here on SI that she is the one who repeatedly claims to be so tolerant. But apparently her principles are fluid enough to makes an exception for me.
Back to your initial question, it's up to you whether you think trying unjustly to get somebody banned on SI is a personal injury or not. |
