Jacob, You normally display crystal clear thinking. This last post wasn't such an example. ;^) re: When will sideline money reenter? IMO, we will have to see solid evidence of a rebound in business conditions. ... I am (this time) deliberately waiting for solid evidence of an upturn, knowing this means I will probably miss the bottom (if I haven't already). The market has correctly anticipated recoveries by about 2 Quarters in the past. I wouldn't really expect it to be different this time. For the non professional to get in close to the bottom, I believe he just needs to pick the best companies in a sector, buy, then come back a year or 2 from now to check how well the investment has done.
