We in the US will buy less from overseas and shift preferences to stuff made here. Our goods will be relatively cheaper to you guys. That is, if we still make anything that anyone wants to buy.

I'm wondering how a higher dollar will affect me personally - outside of the effect on the stock market. I know I'll have to pay more for Parmegiano Reggiano and Italian olive oil and Greek feta cheese, and hydroponically grown tomatoes from Holland, which are very nice in the winter.

But will it make Chilean grapes more expensive, too? And how about T-shirts made in Haiti?
