That second article really says alot about attitudes of some people. "I don't want to live near the working poor", while someone earning 60k/yr is considered poor. I understand the fear of crime and property value impact of embracing certain socioeconomic classes, but this seems extreme. Imagine the trauma the kids of those 'working poor' will face when teased by their richer neighbors kids, or the frustration that the 'working poor' may feel at being unable to provide the same level of experiences for their children as the jones. Yes- segregation will certainly resolve the problem- keep that white trash near the railroad tracks, where they belong.
