Searching luggage for bombs at airports is one thing. Doing body cavity searches for drugs is another. Finding a bomb might save the lives of hundreds of people. Finding a few pounds of drugs is unlikely to save anyone, the drugs will be available whether or not the particular courier gets through. Also a body cavity search is a lot more invasive. I don't think such searches should be done without a warrant or very strong probable cause not just "person X fits the profile". I also don't like the feds war on the use of cash. Where not even talking about vast amounts of cash just a few hundred dollars.
