Sad but true, I rarely pay attention when I'm checking out at any store. Pathetically so, I could give a $20 for a pack of smokes, she could give me change for a $10, and I bet 80% of the time I would miss it. Wouldn't surprise me if lots of people are like me, well maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised if some clearks to try that stuff just to see if the customer is paying attention. Can't blame no one but myself though. Of course scanners when a woman is checking out a cart load of groceries with three screaming kids is something I take issue with.
