Carolyn, I don't know what Jain told the BOD...
All I know is that of the four actual "approved" patents which I found listed with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, NONE of the "Inventors" named was Naveen Jain. And ALL have the "Assignee" as InfoSpace, Inc...the company, NOT Naveen Jain, the CEO.
Despite what some might think, the fact of the matter is that Jain DOES NOT OWN InfoSpace! In fact, over 80% of the outstanding shares of INSP are owned by others (including Paul Allen). And the BOD could get rid of him, and dump him to the curb, any time they chose to...but that seems extremely unlikely as they all were apparently handpicked by Jain himself. I can only assume that the BOD think he's doing a really swell job of running this company (some might say, "completely into the ground"), or they would have gotten rid of him a long time ago. Yep, they're a really swell group, always looking out for the shareholders interests from day one. ALL JMHO (Just My Humble Opinion), of course. <g>
Have a wonderful weekend!
