Yep. That was the point. If they thought the answer was about 13, I might give them 9.5, 11.6, 13.4, 13.9, nota.

They still have to work the problem.

A bit easier, in that if they nail an answer they can be pretty sure they got it right. But as you say, not the piece of cake they wanted.
