Hi Mark, <<A repeat analysis, substituting VoiceStream and Deutsche Telecom?>> This is a good substitute, making the point that quick-footed speculators benefited enormously. The master speculator in this case being a Hong Kong tycoon going by the alias of "Superman", Li Kai Shing, controlling shareholder of Cheung Kong and Hutchison, and ex-owner of 22+% of VoiceStream. Li exited and beat a fast retreat to cash, netting billions of HKD.

It is very difficult to have true winners in the midst of a deflationary tsunami.

Winning by holding half of something that used to be whole is not an exercise to be repeated with any frequency, else we go mad and blind:0)

Now I got to go jogging, impress the neighbors, and then wolf down a porkchop sandwich washed down with an alloted Saturday brewski.

Chugs and later, Jay
