One subject I don't discuss on line is abortion. I hardly even discuss the topic in real life. Too much emotion in the dialogue and little logic.

Perhaps to the point, is that I consider "activism" and "political agenda" to be nothing more than pejorative terms used appropriately when individuals don't like a decision of the Court.

I don't see any particular reason to repeal the 2nd amendment. I would like to see a USSC decision on the individual right vs. the collective right. Whichever way that decision goes, I know that there will be a set of people that will say the USSC is wrong and they are exercising a political agenda.

I can understand the left and right terms associated with individual Justices. I can appreciate the term constructionist [though I don't believe any exist in the true meaning of the word]. But activist and political agenda are meaningless pejorative terms.

Lazerus mentioned "right to privacy" as an example of a right that is not specifically in the Constitution. Agreed. Perhaps you can tell me what the "political agenda" of the Court was/is with the decision that the right to privacy is derived from the Constitution?
