You know what, choosie? You won't be shocked at this, I'm sure, but you didn't get a single response. Maybe these folks "missed" your posts, maybe they're shy and can't muster the strength to speak up, maybe they're still arguing the appropriate dictionary definition of the term "homophobe", maybe they're busily PMing each other and doing their nasty business in private. I don't really care what the reason is.

All I know is I got fed up with the snideness and the attacks and said something. It surprised me, frankly, that a man who refers to women as "clucks", who revels in hatred of those who differ with him politically, and who is the head of what passes for "conservative" thought (a place that would make most respectable convervatives blush) on SI would get all aflutter at being called a homophobe. How sensitive of him. How politically correct. And how desperately disengenous.

Something good happened yesterday: a group of people who generally spend their online lives ridiculing and flaming (along with some very thoughtful folks) spent a couple of hours discussing fear and hatred of gays. I'm happy about that. And I hope that you and other gay SI members will forgive the provocative role I played here.

My best to you, my friend.
