So Zeev,
What's in store for next week? There is some talk now about a 1/2 point fed cut. Conventional wisdom is that a half pointer would show desparation on AG's part and tank the market. That may be the initial response but i believe a half point cut would demonstrate to the world that the Fed is mighty serious about helping both the economy and the markets. My belief is that by getting markets healthier could save the economy from a further slide. A half point fed cut would stem the flow of foreign money and strengthen the dollar although that may be counter intuitive with lower rates. Foreign money would view it as a guarantee of sorts that the US will lead us all out of the darkness. Most folks disagree with me on this. Actually Larry Kudlow made this same case yesterday and predicted a half point cut as well but he has done that before and he is a huge critic of AG. mike
