According to Avatar people I talked to at PC Expo, Shark has been on the market for only 2.5 months. I think that your questions are valid, but they should be asked at least 6 months down the road.

BTW, as for the laptop market, the Avatar already has a lead, because laptop version of Zip drive won't be available for a long time. Besides Iomega doesn't plan to introduce a PC card version, which will make Shark the only possible choice for owners of existing laptops.

I am also long Iomega (and own 2 Zip drives), but I'm becoming an Avatar convert. Unlike all previously discussed products the Shark has one distinct advantage - same or better performance combined with smaller and slicker design.
