Right. Clinton was President for 8 years and had "nothing to do with" our prosperity, optimism, low-unemployment, reduced deficits, surplus, peace and so on. Yeah right. So who is responsible? Newt Gingrich? Or maybe it didn't even happen. I know Republicans would like to forget now that they're driving us deeper into the worst recession in 10 years since the last Bush was President. If people voted on the economy the GOP wouldn't have a chance. Ever. Madness, isn't it? Of course Gore did win the popular vote and with Nader included by quite a margin. So maybe our problem is the electoral college which sometimes puts the less popular guy in office. And if Bush hadn't lied through his teeth on the campaign trail he never would have come close to winning.
