My Virgin Glade

A winsome rain touched soft my virgin glade
atop gardenia and blue hosta leaf,
where oaken arms caress carnation’s shade,
vermilion fleur-de-lis surpass belief.

A delphic auspice where my dahlias bloom,
a rune of lily where the bramble rest.
Oh rhododendron, there arrest my gloom
where folding dogwood hide the tit mouse nest.

Where hummingbirds espy my honeyed dew
the morning glory beckons hickory.
My daffodil with violet root true,
where coral orchids cache their history.

This pristine hold, my garden paradise;
reflective life in God’s redemptive eyes.
