I'm just popping in here and caught the last couple of comments. But it occurs to me that Qwest's timing was superb, in that they capitalized on the paper value of their stock at a time when they used it to buy a cash cow, USW.

Others could have done something similar at the time when their paper values were high, but they didn't, and now their paper value couldn't buy cow chips.

I must admit that I wasn't too crazy about either Q or GX walking away with USW at the time, but as it has evolved, I was wrong on this one. $#!+ happens.
