Robear. Good article. I'd add only one thing.

We're really talking about "State Capitalism". It's an incestuous melding of:

1. The D.C. political nexus

2. The financial power of the giant W.S. houses, banks and corporations

AND....of course,

3. The media that spins their stories and covers their tracks to keep the public clueless and their patrons IN POWER.

Talk about musical chairs?<G> The same faces just shuttle back and forth between D.C. political posts and corporate board rooms depending upon whether their party is in or out of the White House!<lol>

That what I mean by "State Capitalism", with the final nail in the coffin of public accountability from this power elite being the current legalized bribery euphemistically called "campaign finance".

As a result, politicians and the big biz interests as isolated and alienated from the rest of us as at any time in American history!

IMO, it's impossible to only talk about concentration of wealth and economic power ala the Ravi Batra's left liberal mentality. It's very important to put equal emphasis on the concentration of power in Washington and the lack of accountability of our politicians.

The "Beast" has 2 heads and one body....

Guess, that's enough of a rant for one day.<g>

Best,

Iso
