the old idea that when Magazines become bearish, means the bottom is in,is myth,sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong>>>>>

but the odds favor magazine covers as fairly good contrary indicators, nobody knows the future, as market timers you look for odds.

bullish and bearish mag covers were in the same month of these major turning points

9/98-10/98
4/98 (mo top, minor new high in july 99)
12/99 Bezos cover, amazon top

about the time the trend has reached the attention of the mass media the trend is widely known by the public and the trend is mature, these things don't always work on a dime it took almost two months of bearish magazine covers and newpaper press to bottom the 98 market, but they are at least indicators that the trend is maturing.
