>> I assume that your post that only AMTX modems
are in use at GTE trials means it is AMTX's turn to have their modem tested- not
that WSTL is out of the running.

Yes, it's Amati turn to have their modem test and Westell is put on
standby.

>>So, did the GTE trials of WSTL use only their HDSL or did WSTL have trial
ADSL equipment available?

Westell has ADSL equipment available just like the one at SuperCom,
And I don't think that any HDSL are being used for this trial.
Adtran is using HDSL equipments to upgrade T1.

>>PS Orckit had ADSL at SuperCom, but said field trials wouldn't be until 1997. Like
WSTL, Paradyne said end of 1996 for ADSL, and PAIR had no ADSL and said
'end of 1996' and that PAIR would have DMT ADSL ready in early 1997. Is this
correct? Does no one else have ADSL up and running right now?

Orckit had no ADSL at Supercom, only showed VDSL,but said it won't be until
1997, and all the one's you mentioned .I think it's correct.
At this time I think only Amati and Westell have ADSL up and running,
for the test ,but I see ADSL modem from Aware are Advertising in
Telephony magazines
