Hi CB, Kastel and others, on the dishwasher topic here, not wanting to make it into a debate, but nevertheless something to remember as it applies to other appliances and processes as well. You have to consider the total cost, and that includes the cost of getting the raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, installation, and eventually recycling/disposal costs at the end of the life cycle of the appliance to really be able to tell if the dishwasher actually saves energy and is therefore environmentally friendly... On an operational basis, yes it may be more efficient, all things considered, maybe not. In the end the question you have to ask yourself is : Will it improve my quality of life? Not always as easy to answer as it seems ... ( I guess you can tell now that i am not an impulsive shopper ... So i run smack against Maurice with his " burn hydrocarbons and shop to save the world" ) All in good spirit Stephan
