The ratio of advancing issues to declining issues is larger than one, which is atypical of selloffs. The ratio of upside volume to downside volume is small. When dividing a number greater than 1 by a fractional number, you'll get a much larger number than the normal case. The normal case is that both are greater than 1 in a rising market, or that both are fractional in a falling market. This happened in mid-June also.
