tejek, re: I just saw an American bald eagle at a Seattle lake.... There's a few in my back yard (lake St. Clair, Olympia, WA), along with three Osprey families and my daughter pointed out a very large owl as we were trolling for trout tonight. Caught a 13 and a 15 inch trout and one small bass. Also hooked and nearly landed a 20+ inch Kokanee, got it right up to the boat (everyone saw it) and bang it was gone. At dinner tonight, while eating my catch I kept thinking how nice that kokanee would have looked on the table. Oh, eagle stories - they're really fun to watch dive bombing for trout after the State fish and game department drops 20,000+ 8-10 inch fish into the lake every spring. These plants (trout) are really disoriented and hang around on the surface, the eagles come in from all over to get a seat at the buffet line. Treetop space around the lakes edges gets a little tight. Go to Klamath Falls Oregon sometime, they have literally hundreds of them flying around.
