Off topic -- Copenhagen...

I was in Copenhagen a few weeks ago. I didn't see any bums. Fewer buildings were defaced by vandalism or the metal bars seen so commonly in large cities. Traffic didn't seem significantly congested. In general, things seemed to run efficiently.

Whoever controls the air-conditioning in the airport needs to realize that August is a warm month and that struggling with luggage in humid, still, 30-plus degree air doesn't leave travellers with a positive image of the place.

What is noticeable immediately is the very large number of bicycles. They seem to be everywhere -- the landscape lends itself to pedal travel much better than home.

The countryside around the capital is attractive.

Overall, I'd say it's one of the nicest national capitals I've visited, and I will very likely return.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. And the little kids who are blonde are REALLY blonde!!
