Business Leaders to Plot Tech Recovery
CEOs Fiorina, Siebel, Willner Head Program at Aspen Summit

WASHINGTON - Hewlett-Packard’s Carly Fiorina, Siebel Systems’
Tom Siebel, and Insight Cable's Michael Willner head an all-star lineup
of business leaders scheduled to speak at The Progress & Freedom
Foundation's Aspen Summit 2001, to be held August 19-21 in Aspen,
Colorado. The two-day conference will focus on how to rejuvenate the
ailing IT sector of the U.S. economy.

“The meltdown in the tech sector is the biggest single issue facing the
U.S. economy,” said PFF President Jeff Eisenach. “This year’s summit
will focus on what’s needed to get things back on track.”

The annual Aspen summit is a two-day conference that includes
leading business executives, policymakers and opinion leaders.
Fiorina’s address will kick the conference off at a Sunday evening
opening dinner.Siebel will deliver the keynote address on Monday,
August 20, while Willner will discuss broadband deployment Tuesday
morning, August 21. The conference concludes Tuesday evening.

“Carly Fiorina, Tom Siebel and Michael Willner are among the most
respected and admired leaders in the technology community,”
Eisenach said in announcing their participation."Their participation
guarantees that this year's dialogue will once again break new ground
in how we think about the digital revolution, the economy and public
policy."

The Progress & Freedom Foundation studies the impact of the digital
revolution and its implications for public policy. PFF’s board of
directors is chaired by Dr. George A. (Jay) Keyworth, former science
adviser to President Reagan. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization.
