Again, the positions do not cause the hostility, nor do I think that virulent hatred has been expressed. I remember once when Christopher was talking to Edwarda and me about taking his daughters to college, and how strange it was to not be there to talk to them regularly, or protect them, or just hug them. In the middle of it all, X suddenly interjected an "Ugh!", and complained about the sentimental and tedious nature of the exchange. That is the sort of experience which crystallizes feelings against her.....
