It would be fair comment to say "I conclude from Mary's admiration of Bill Clinton that she has a distaste for such things as truth... etc." It would be a lie if you came on and wrote, "Mary has repeatedly mentioned her distaste for such things as truth... etc." (Unless of course she had done that.)
