Edmond, we must be close to the same age, as together we have close to 100 years investment experience. Selling covered calls is, particularly is a sideways moving market like this, the preferred conservative strategy. This would apply not only to the oil and gas sector but to technology stocks as well. Generally speaking, I like to sell covered calls with an expiration date farther out--at least three months--in order to take advantage of the premium.
