Solon-- I wanted to tell you, but didn't want to do it on That Other Thread, how much I enjoyed your posts this morning, in particular the lioness and the jackal fable and the one on the various definitions of life. They were thoughtful and thought-provoking, well-written and entertaining.

So I am glad I saw you here-

I envy you your ability to sleep. I have lost it. I watch Myers the Cat stretched out along the top of the couch like a long furry boa and am consumed with jealousy.
Sometimes I wake him up, just out of meanness.
But he just yawns, stretches, and smugly returns to sleep-- cats are cruel and heartless animals.
