I'm having a very tough time determining who really has the best position right now - though I still like LVLT's assets th best.

Right now it looks to me like there may be too many players in this space. Is that an understatement? (VBG)

Personally, I don't think bankruptcies that involve liquidations are a highly probable scenario. I think someone will buy the loser(s) at a very distressed price. But if I am correct, who is(are) the loser(s)?

It's hard for to imagine either BRW or Q getting into near term financial difficulty because they have profitable operations to help them get through this tough period. They can finance themselves.

The new Touch America will have such solid finances, that it should have a lot of time even though it is a late entry and has a more marginal position and network.

Global Crossing already has a huge revenue base and arguably has an advantage related to the global network coverage.

LVLT and WCG have no substantial revenue base and a lot of debt, but arguably they might have the best networks from a cost and technology standpoint. (especially LVLT)

How doe this play out?
